<p>This is a very promising victory since the team is very young after most of its glorious ancients (Richardson, Kervadec, Anquetil) retired from the national team not long ago. Thanks to the talent of Narcisse, Guigou and Fernandez and guided by their natural leader Karabatic (aged only 21!), the French players played the most attractive and effective game among all the teams taking part in this competition. Note that Thierry Omeyer was elected best keeper of the tournament and averaged almost 50% saves per game!!!
